A patio door bought separately rarely matches the windows exactly. Exterior colors with the same name can differ between product lines, interior finishes differ, and hardware finishes do not line up. Ordering the door from the same Andersen series as the windows, on the same order, is the simple fix.
Each Andersen series has its own patio door. The 100 Series has a Fibrex gliding door. The 200 Series has the Perma-Shield and Narroline gliding doors and a hinged inswing door. The 400 Series has the Frenchwood gliding and hinged doors. The A-Series has hinged and gliding doors in its own colors and woods. Pick the window series first and the door follows from it.

Why order the Andersen patio door with the windows instead of separately?
Color names and finishes can differ between product lines and production runs. A door ordered from the same series on the same order as the windows has the same exterior color, interior finish, glass package and hardware finish. It also means one measure and one install schedule.
Which Andersen patio door matches 400 Series windows?
The Frenchwood gliding and hinged patio doors are 400 Series. They share the 400 Series exterior colors and interior options. For 100 Series windows, the match is the 100 Series gliding door; for the A-Series, the A-Series patio doors.
Is the house left open while the patio door is replaced?
No. The old door comes out and the new one goes in the same day, and it is closed and locked before we leave. Floors along the path get drop cloths and the furniture near the door is moved back and covered.
What if the floor under the old patio door is rotted?
It is common under old sliders. We look at the sill and subfloor at the measure, but some rot only shows when the door is out. Repair is quoted and approved before we do it, and the opening gets a sill pan before the new door goes in.
Can the patio door be installed before the windows arrive?
It can, if the door arrives first and you want it in. Usually the whole order arrives together and the door goes in on the first day. Either way, the door and windows are on one order so they match.
Do you sell Andersen windows and doors, or only install them?
Both, on this kind of job: we order the windows and door through ABC Supply and install them. We are an independent installer, not an Andersen dealer. If you already own the door, we install it labor only.
