Most old sliders get replaced for the same reasons: the panel drags because the track is worn, the glass has fogged between the panes, the lock no longer catches, or the floor inside the sill is stained and soft. By the time a slider is that far gone, new rollers do not save it, and the rot under it is the bigger problem.
Full service means you choose the door and we handle getting the right one. We measure the frame and the rough opening, confirm which side the moving panel should be on, and order a slider sized to the opening with the glass and color you pick. You do not have to guess at sizes, and the door is on site before the old one comes out.
Install day is the old door and trim out, the sill area checked and any soft subfloor or framing replaced, a sill pan down, flashing tape lapped at the sides and head, and the new frame shimmed square so the panel glides and the lock meets the keeper. Then foam, sealant, the screen adjusted on its track, and trim inside and out. Painting is quoted as a separate line — or leave it primed and caulked and paint it yourself. Situations and options
Vinyl slider
Vinyl frame and panels, white or a factory color. Needs no paint on the frame and is a common pick for a straight replacement of an older aluminum or vinyl slider.
Fiberglass or clad-wood slider
A stiffer frame for a wide opening, and a wood interior on clad units if you want it stained to match the room. Heavier to set, same pan and flashing details.
Three- and four-panel sliders
For a wide deck wall or walkout. Longer tracks show any dip in the sill, so the sill has to be flat and the frame dead square before it is fastened.

Should I repair my sliding patio door or replace it?
Repair it if the glass is clear, the frame is sound and the problem is rollers, a lock or the screen. Replace it when the glass has fogged, the track is worn through, the frame is racked, or the floor at the sill is soft. Send photos and we tell you which one makes sense before quoting either.
Do you supply the new sliding door?
Yes. You pick the frame, color and glass, we measure the opening and order the door to fit, and the door is a line on the quote. If you already bought a slider, we install it and price the job as labor only.
Why is the floor rotten by my old sliding door?
The track holds water and snow, and older sliders were rarely set in a sill pan. Water that gets past the track soaks into the subfloor and rim below. We cut out the soft wood, replace it, and set the new door in a sill pan so the same thing does not happen again.
How long does a sliding patio door replacement take?
Most of a day on site for one two-panel slider in a sound opening. Sill repair or a three- or four-panel unit adds time. The wait before that is the door order, and we give you the expected date when it is placed.
Can I change which side my sliding door opens on?
Yes. The new door is ordered with the moving panel on whichever side you want, since the handing is part of the order. Think about furniture, the deck stairs and where you walk; we can suggest a side from the room photos.
Is the screen door included with a new sliding patio door?
Most sliders come with a matching screen panel, and we confirm that when the door is ordered. We set it on its track and adjust the rollers so it slides and latches. If you want a retractable screen instead, that is quoted as its own line.
