Or book a free in-home estimate and we come out, measure, and price it at the house. Either way the price is in writing before any work is scheduled.

Yes. In-home estimates are free across the Twin Cities metro, and for a whole-house window job or anything you want to walk through in person, that is the way to do it. If you would rather skip the visit, photos of the opening, the room or the yard are enough to write a real quote for most work. When we supply windows or doors, we measure on site before anything is ordered either way. There is no showroom.

The quote is a written price for the job: per opening for windows and doors, per foot for trim, or per project for roofing, siding, drywall, flooring, excavation and the like. Painting is always quoted as its own line so you can take it or leave it. There is no payment link; you pay by check or direct deposit.

Three photos per opening: from inside, from outside and a close-up of the sill or threshold. If you already bought the unit, add the product listing or the label on the box so we can check size and handing before install day.

Windows and doors first: replacement windows, entry, patio, storm and interior doors, and the trim around them, whether we supply the units or you bought them. We install them. JMB Builders does not sell any one brand: we install Andersen, Pella, ProVia, Therma-Tru, Simonton and every other line, whether you bought the units yourself or we ordered them for you. That is why the quote can be written from photos instead of a sales appointment.

Yes. Labor-only installation is a large part of what we do. Buy your entry door, interior doors, patio door or windows from Menards, Home Depot, Lowe's, a lumberyard or online, and we remove the old unit, fix any framing or rot we find, set and seal the new one, and trim it out. Send us the product listing before you buy and we will check size and handing so it fits the first time.

Yes. One interior door, one board-and-batten wall, a TV mounted, a single window: a small job gets the same written quote from photos and the same crew. Small jobs are often scheduled around larger ones nearby, which is why we ask for your zip code.

Yes. JMB Builders LLC holds Minnesota residential building contractor license BC809005, which you can check on the Department of Labor and Industry lookup. The license number is on every quote and invoice.

We are based in Zimmerman and work across the Twin Cities metro and central Minnesota: Elk River, Big Lake, Otsego, Rogers, St. Michael, Monticello, Andover, Maple Grove, Anoka, Blaine, Plymouth, Minneapolis, St. Paul, St. Cloud and the other cities on our service-area page. It depends on the number of openings, the window style and brand, whether the frame comes out or an insert goes in, and how much trim work is involved. We do not publish prices because the same window costs different amounts in different walls. Send photos of the windows inside and out for a reply within one business day, or book a free in-home estimate and we price it at the house.

Full-service means one crew does all of it: a free in-home estimate (or a written quote from your photos), the measure before ordering, the order itself, removal of the old units, installation, sealing and flashing, and the interior and exterior trim so nothing is left for you to patch. Painting of new trim is quoted as its own line.

Drafts, condensation between the panes, sashes that stick or will not lock, rot in the sill, or a patio door that has to be lifted to slide are the usual signs. Some of these are repairs rather than replacements, and we will say so in the quote. Photos of the problem area are enough to tell the difference in most cases; a free in-home estimate settles the rest.

Yes. Builders, GCs and window companies bring us in for window and door installs, trim packages, siding, roofing and other scopes on new construction, remodels and insurance jobs. Send the plans or photos and the schedule and you get a written scope and price. Certificate of insurance and the license number come with the quote.

Yes. Turnovers, repairs and unit-by-unit replacements across a portfolio can be quoted from a tenant's or manager's photos, scheduled around occupancy, and invoiced per unit or per project, paid by check or direct deposit.

Most single-opening installs, trim jobs and repairs are done in a day. Whole-house window jobs usually take one to three days on site once the units arrive; product lead times are the long part, and we lay them out in the quote. Roofing, siding, pole barns and excavation are scheduled by the project and the quote says how many days to expect.

Yes. Hail, wind, water and storm repairs to windows, doors, roofing, siding and interiors are quoted from your photos and the adjuster's scope, and we work to that scope. Under Minnesota law a contractor may not offer to pay or waive your deductible, and we do not.
