Andersen 400 Series Whole House Replacement, Supplied and Installed
You have settled on Andersen 400 Series for the whole house and want one contractor to measure, order and install every window, not a store program and a separate carpenter.

Andersen 400 Series whole house replacement, supplied and installed: JMB Builders measures every opening in person, orders all the 400 Series units through ABC Supply in one order so color and glass match, and installs them room by room across the Twin Cities metro. The quote lists each opening, priced per window. Send photos for a reply within one business day, or book a free in-home estimate.
- Priced per window, every opening listed
- We supply the 400 Series and install it
- One measure, one order, room-by-room install

The 400 Series is Andersen's wood-interior window with a Perma-Shield vinyl exterior. It comes in double-hung, casement, awning, gliding, picture, bay and bow and specialty shapes, in seven exterior colors, with natural pine or a factory interior color inside. On a whole house that menu is the point: a casement over the kitchen sink, double-hungs in the bedrooms and a picture unit in the living room can all share one exterior color, one glass package and one grille pattern.
This page is the full-service job. We measure every opening, write the order, buy the windows through ABC Supply and install them. If you already bought 400 Series units yourself, that is a different page: our labor-only Andersen install. The difference matters on a big order, because when we write the order, a wrong size or the wrong install type is ours to fix, not yours.
Every opening gets one decision before anything is ordered: insert or full frame. A 400 Series insert drops into a sound old wood frame with the siding left alone. A full-frame unit with a nailing fin replaces everything back to the studs and gets a sill pan and flashing tape. Most houses end up with a mix, and the quote says which each opening gets and why.

What you supply
- Your picks for the house: exterior color, interior finish (pine or factory color), glass package, grille pattern and hardware finish
- Window coverings down and furniture pulled back in the rooms on the schedule for that day
- Your paint or stain color if you want the pine interiors finished by us
- A decision on any opening you want to change in size, made before the order goes in
What JMB supplies
- One in-person measure of every opening, with rot and square checked at each one
- A line-item quote by opening: room, style, size, insert or full frame, glass and trim
- All 400 Series windows on one order through ABC Supply, screens and hardware included
- Drop cloths on floors and plastic over furniture near each opening
- Room-by-room install; no opening is left open overnight
- Sill pans, flashing tape, low-expansion foam, backer rod and sealant
- Extension jambs, casing, stool and apron, or exterior trim and capping, as quoted
- Painting or staining as its own line, or leave it primed and caulked and paint it yourself
How it is priced: per window
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- How many openings and the mix of styles: casements and bays cost more than double-hungs
- Insert or full-frame install, opening by opening
- Glass package: Low-E4, SmartSun, HeatLock, or triple-pane where Andersen offers it here
- Exterior color and interior finish choices
- Second-story and walkout openings that need staging
- Siding, stucco or brick around full-frame openings
- Rot or framing repair found at the measure, quoted before work starts
For the first look, send one photo of each window inside and out, labeled by room. The in-home measure turns that into the final line-item quote.
How long it takes
Lead time depends on the brand and is written on the quote. Once the windows arrive: roughly three to five inserts a day, or one to three full-frame units a day.

Andersen 400 Series Whole House Replacement, Supplied and Installed: questions, answered
Can you supply the Andersen 400 Series windows, or do I have to buy them?
We supply them. JMB Builders measures every opening, writes the order and buys the 400 Series windows through ABC Supply, then installs them. We are an independent installer, not an Andersen dealer. If you would rather buy the windows yourself, we also install customer-bought Andersen units labor only.
Should every window in an Andersen 400 Series whole house order be the same install type?
No. Each opening is judged on its own. A sound, square wood frame can take a 400 Series insert with no siding work; a rotted or out-of-square frame gets a full-frame unit with a nailing fin, sill pan and flashing. The quote marks each opening so you can see where the money goes.
Can I get triple-pane glass in Andersen 400 Series windows in Minnesota?
Andersen launched a 400 Series triple-pane option in Northeast markets, and whether it can be ordered for a Minnesota house varies. We check it with the supplier before the quote is final. If it is not available, Low-E4 with the HeatLock coating is the usual cold-climate choice on this line.
What do I need to decide before the Andersen order goes in?
Exterior color, interior finish, glass package, grille pattern, hardware finish and the style of each opening. Made-to-order windows usually cannot be changed or returned once ordered, so all of it is settled at the measure. We write every choice on the quote and you sign off on it before we order.
Will my house be open overnight while the windows are replaced?
No. We work room by room and close every opening the same day it comes out. Floors get drop cloths and nearby furniture gets covered. If a delivery is short a window, that opening stays as it is until the unit arrives.
Who do I call during an Andersen whole house install?
JMB Builders, at the number on your quote. The same contractor measures, orders and installs, so questions about the order, the schedule or a finished window all go to one place. Photos of the finished openings go in your job folder.
