Thermo-Tech windows and patio door on one order: the sliding door and the windows are picked in the same color and glass, ordered together through ABC Supply and installed by JMB Builders across the Twin Cities metro and north to St. Cloud. The door goes in on a sill pan; windows follow room by room. Priced per project with each opening listed. Send photos for a reply within one business day, or book a free in-home estimate.
- Priced per project, door and each window listed
- Door and windows in one color and glass
- French Style or Slim Line slider

A patio door usually sits in the same room as two or three windows, often on the back wall facing the deck. When the door is replaced alone, the new frame color and the new glass rarely match the old windows beside it. Thermo-Tech, the vinyl window maker in Sauk Rapids, builds both, so the door and the windows can be ordered in the same vinyl color and glass package and arrive together.
Thermo-Tech makes two sliding door styles. French Style has wide stiles and rails and looks like a hinged door. Slim Line has narrow rails and more glass. Both come in 2-, 3- or 4-lite layouts, with an optional transom, built to the rough opening or in standard sizes made for older patio door openings. The grilles, if you want them, sit between the glass on both the door and the windows.
The door is the heavy part of the job. The old unit comes out, the subfloor at the sill is checked for rot (it is the most common place to find it), a pan goes down, and the new door is set, shimmed, foamed and adjusted so it rolls and locks. Then the windows go in room by room.

How it is priced: per project
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- Door style, panel count and an optional transom
- Number, size and style of the windows on the order
- Glass package chosen for door and windows
- Rot in the subfloor or framing under the old door
- Whether the new door fits the opening or the opening is reframed
- Exterior trim, siding and deck clearance at the door
Send a photo of the patio door inside and out, one of the sill, and each window on the order labeled by room.
How long it takes
The patio door: about a day. Windows: often several a day after that. Lead time depends on the order and is written on the quote.

Situations and options
Door plus the windows in the same room
The smallest version: the slider and the windows on the same wall or in the same room, so the view out back matches. The rest of the house can follow later in the same color.
Door plus every window in the house
The whole house on one order. Colors, glass and grilles match everywhere, and the install days run back to back.
Slider in a walkout basement
Lower-level sliders often have rot at the sill from water off the deck. We check it at the measure and price the repair on its own line.
Thermo-Tech Windows and Patio Door — Matched on One Order: questions, answered
Does Thermo-Tech make a patio door that matches its windows?
Yes. Thermo-Tech builds vinyl sliding patio doors in French Style and Slim Line, offered in its vinyl colors, with between-the-glass grilles available. Ordered with the windows, the door and windows come in the same frame color and glass package.
What is the difference between French Style and Slim Line?
French Style has wide stiles and rails, so a slider looks more like a hinged French door. Slim Line has narrow stiles and rails and shows more glass. Both come in 2-, 3- or 4-lite layouts and can be ordered with a transom.
Can I replace the patio door now and the windows later?
Yes. Write the exact color and glass package on the first order and we put it on the quote, so the windows can be ordered to match later. Ordering them together is the surest match and saves a second set of install days.
What if the floor under my old sliding door is rotted?
It is common, especially on a deck door that has leaked for years. We check the subfloor and framing at the sill when the old door comes out, show you what is there, and quote the repair before doing it. The new door then goes down on a sill pan so water has a way out.
Is the patio door opening left open overnight?
No. The old door comes out and the new one goes in on the same day, set, sealed and locked. Windows are done one room at a time on the same rule.
Who do I call if something comes up during the job?
