Andersen E-Series Replacement Windows — Built to Order, Set Full Frame
You want a color or a size the stock lines do not make, with real wood on the inside, and you want one contractor to measure it, order it and put it in.
Reply within one business day. Or call / text 763-204-2099.
Andersen E-Series replacement windows are Andersen's made-to-order line: wood inside, extruded aluminum cladding outside, in custom sizes and a wide color range. JMB Builders measures each opening in person, orders the E-Series through ABC Supply and sets every unit full frame across the Twin Cities. Priced per opening on a line-item quote. Send photos and we reply within one business day, or book a free in-home estimate.
- Priced per opening, every window on its own line
- Full-frame install, flashed to the wall
- Ordered through ABC Supply; we are the installer

The E-Series is the top of Andersen's lineup and the one built entirely to order. The frame and sash are wood. The outside is covered in heavy-gauge extruded aluminum, which Andersen says is thicker and stronger than the roll-formed cladding on many clad windows. Andersen lists 50 standard exterior colors, up to four of them mixed on one unit, plus anodized finishes and custom color matches. Inside there are ten-plus wood species, unfinished, stained or one of 14 painted colors.
Who it fits: a house where the exterior color is a design decision, an opening that is oversized or an odd shape, or an owner who wants walnut or cherry at the window to match the rest of the woodwork. If you can live with 11 exterior colors and six woods, Andersen's A-Series covers most of the same ground; that is the line on our A-Series whole-house page. We go through both at the estimate.
Andersen offers the E-Series in new-construction and full-frame replacement versions, so we plan every opening as full frame. The old window comes out to the rough opening, we check the framing, set a sloped sill pan, tape the fin to the housewrap, foam and seal the gap, then trim inside and out. ABC Supply branches in Maple Plain and St. Cloud list the E-Series on Andersen's dealer locator. We are an installer, not an Andersen dealer.

What you supply
- Exterior color or color mix, and the interior wood and its finish
- Glass by side of the house: dual-pane Low-E4 options or triple-pane
- Grille pattern, hardware style and finish, screen type
- A signed order sheet before anything is built, since custom units cannot be re-picked
- Association or architectural approval first, if your house needs it
What JMB supplies
- One in-person measure of every opening before the order
- A line-item quote by opening, easy to compare or phase
- One E-Series order, so color, wood and glass match room to room
- Floor runners, furniture covers and a cleaned room at the end of each day
- Full-frame removal, sill pan, flashing tape, foam and sealant
- Interior jamb extensions and casing; exterior trim or siding refit
- No opening left open overnight; the quote names who to call during the job
- Staining or painting as its own line, or you finish the wood
How it is priced: per opening
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- Unit size and style, including oversized and custom shapes
- Standard, mixed, anodized or custom-matched exterior color
- Interior wood species and whether it comes unfinished, stained or painted
- Triple-pane versus dual-pane glass on each opening
- Siding, stucco or brick around the opening
- Openings that change size, with framing and a permit
- Second-story units that need staging
Send a photo of each window inside and out, labeled by room. The free in-home estimate is where the E-Series choices get written down and the sizes get measured.
How long it takes
Lead time depends on the brand and options and is written on the quote. Full-frame installs run roughly one to three windows a day, depending on size, floor and siding.

Situations and options
Mixed exterior colors
Andersen lets you mix up to four of its 50 standard colors on one unit, for example a dark frame with a lighter sash. Each opening's colors go on the quote line so the order is exact.
Oversized and custom shapes
Sizes and shapes are custom on the E-Series. A tall unit or a shape over a gable is measured from the rough opening, and the quote says if framing or staging is needed for it.
Triple-pane on the cold sides
Triple-pane is offered on E-Series windows (Andersen confirms it per order on patio doors). Some owners put it on north and west walls only. Each opening's glass is written on the quote.
Matching patio doors
Andersen makes E-Series hinged and gliding patio doors in the same colors and woods. On the same order they match the windows, and the door is its own line on the quote.
Andersen E-Series Replacement Windows — Built to Order, Set Full Frame: questions, answered
What is the difference between Andersen E-Series and A-Series windows?
Both are wood inside. The E-Series is clad in extruded aluminum and is built fully to order, with 50 standard exterior colors, anodized or custom colors, and ten-plus interior woods. The A-Series uses a fiberglass and Fibrex composite exterior with 11 colors and six woods. We price both at the estimate when you are deciding.
Can Andersen E-Series windows be installed as inserts?
Andersen lists the E-Series in new-construction and full-frame replacement versions, so we plan each opening as full frame. The old window comes out to the rough opening and the new unit is flashed to the wall. That is more work per opening than an insert, and the quote prices it that way.
Can I get any color on Andersen E-Series windows?
Andersen offers 50 standard exterior colors, anodized finishes, and a custom color match, and up to four colors can be mixed on one unit. A custom match is ordered through Andersen and its lead time is written on the quote. Interiors come unfinished, stained, or in 14 painted colors.
Where do you order Andersen E-Series windows in Minnesota?
Through ABC Supply. Andersen's dealer locator lists the E-Series at ABC's Maple Plain and St. Cloud branches. JMB Builders is an independent installer, not an Andersen dealer, and the product specs and warranty terms are Andersen's, from Andersen's own documents.
How long do Andersen E-Series windows take to arrive?
They are built to order, so the lead time depends on the brand and the options you pick, and it is written on the quote. Custom colors and unusual sizes can add time. Nothing is ordered until every opening has been measured in person and you have signed the order sheet.
Who finishes the wood inside new E-Series windows?
Andersen can ship them stained or painted from the factory. Unfinished wood is stained or painted after install. Painting is quoted as a separate line, or leave it unfinished and have your own finisher do it soon after the windows go in.
