Twin home window replacement works best when both owners do it together: JMB Builders measures both halves in one visit, writes a separate line-item quote for each side, and places one order so frame color, glass and grilles match across the building. Each owner signs and pays for their own side. Installed one half, then the other, Twin Cities metro to St. Cloud. Priced per unit; photo reply within one business day, or a free in-home estimate.
- Priced per unit — one quote per side
- One order so both halves match
- Each owner signs and pays separately

A twin home looks like one house from the street, and it is two owners on paper. When only one side gets new windows, the building ends up with two frame colors, two grille patterns and two sightlines. Doing both sides on one order avoids that and puts both owners on one measure and one set of install days.
Here is how it splits. One walk-through covers both halves. Each owner gets a quote for their own side, every opening listed with room, size and style, so nobody pays for the other half. Both owners agree on four things that have to match: brand and series, exterior frame color, grille pattern and glass look. Inside color and hardware can differ by side. If there is an association, the shared spec goes to it once.
If your neighbor is not ready, your side can still go first. We write the brand, series, exterior color and grille pattern on your quote so their side can match later, as long as that line is still made.

How it is priced: per unit
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- Number of windows and doors on each side
- Insert vs. full frame on each opening
- Whether both sides order together or one goes first
- Patio and entry doors added to either side
- Exterior capping and interior trim scope
- Second-story or walkout-level access
Each owner can send photos of their own side, labeled by room; tell us the address of the other half so the two are quoted together.
How long it takes
Most twin home halves take two to four working days each once the windows arrive. Lead time depends on the brand and is written on each quote.

Situations and options
Both sides together
One measure, one order, back-to-back install days. Both halves match, and the shared order is the simplest way to get there.
Your side now, theirs later
Your quote records the brand, series, exterior color and grille pattern. When your neighbor is ready, their side is ordered to match.
Windows plus doors
Front entry and patio doors go on the same order so the exterior color matches the windows on both halves.
Twin Home Window Replacement — Both Sides, One Order, Matching: questions, answered
Do both sides of a twin home need the same windows?
Not by law, but associations often require a matching exterior, and the building looks like one house only when both sides match. The four things to agree on are brand and series, exterior frame color, grille pattern and glass look. Interior color and hardware can differ by side.
How do two twin home owners split a window replacement job?
Each owner gets their own quote listing only the openings on their side, signs their own contract and pays their own invoice. The windows are ordered together so they match. Nobody is billed for the other half.
What if my twin home neighbor does not want new windows yet?
Your side can go first. The brand, series, exterior color and grille pattern are written on your quote, so the other half can be ordered to match later. Window lines do change over time, so the sooner the second side is done, the easier the match.
Does my twin home association have to approve new windows?
Many do, and the rules are in your association documents. We give you the spec, color, grille pattern and photos the request usually asks for, and one spec can cover both halves in a single request. Install is scheduled after approval.
Can patio doors and entry doors be done on both sides of a twin home too?
Yes. Doors go on the same order as the windows so the exterior color matches across the building. Each owner picks their own door style and hardware within whatever the association allows.
Is it cheaper for both twin home owners to order together?
One order and one trip usually lowers the cost per window compared with two separate jobs. Ask for your side quoted both ways and the difference is on paper. Each owner still pays only for their own openings.
