Pella Reserve Replacement Windows — Traditional or Contemporary
An older house with deep wood trim, or a newer one with big modern glass, and you have narrowed it to Pella's highest wood line.

Pella Reserve replacement windows are Pella's top wood line, in a Traditional collection with divided-light-style grilles and a Contemporary collection with square, slim exterior profiles. JMB Builders measures each opening, confirms the line with our ABC Supply branch before the quote is final, and installs full frame across the Twin Cities. Priced per opening. - Priced per opening on a line-item quote
- Full-frame install at every opening
- Supply confirmed with ABC before the quote is final

Pella Reserve comes in two collections. Traditional uses deliberate proportions, detailed profiles, putty-glaze-style details and Integral Light Technology grilles that read as true divided light. Contemporary uses a through-stile cladding system for square exterior corners, thin frames and more glass. Interiors are pine, mahogany or Douglas fir, treated with Pella's EnduraGuard protection; exteriors are extruded aluminum with EnduraClad finishes in a wide palette or a custom color. Triple-pane and impact-resistant glass are options.
On an older house, set expectations early: we install the window Pella builds, and new interior casing is a stock or close profile. We do not mill trim to copy an old profile. If your casing comes off whole, we can talk about putting it back. Pella lists Reserve as new-construction and full-frame replacement units, so every opening is full frame: out to the rough opening, framing checked, sill pan, flashing tape, foam and sealant, trim inside and out.
Supply, plainly: Reserve is sold through Pella showrooms and Pella Pro dealers, and we have not confirmed that our ABC Supply branch can order it. We confirm the line with our ABC branch before the quote is final. If it cannot be ordered there, you can buy it from Pella and we install it. We are an installer, not a Pella dealer.

- Floor runners, furniture covers and dust control at each opening
- Full-frame removal, sloped sill pan, flashing tape, foam and sealant

How it is priced: per opening
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- Collection, style and size of each unit
- Interior wood species and factory finish versus unfinished
- Integral Light Technology or other grilles, and the pattern
- Triple-pane, sound or impact glass on any opening
- Custom exterior color
- Plaster walls, brick or stucco around the opening
- Openings that change size, with framing and a permit
Send a photo of each window inside and out and a close-up of the interior casing. The in-home estimate is where the Reserve choices get written down opening by opening.
How long it takes
Lead time depends on the brand and is written on the quote. Full-frame installs in an older house with plaster run roughly one to two windows a day.

Situations and options
Traditional collection
Detailed profiles and Integral Light Technology grilles that read as true divided light, with period-style hardware such as Pella's fold-away crank. Suits a house whose design leans traditional.
Contemporary collection
Through-stile cladding for square exterior corners, minimal frames and larger glass. Suits a newer house or an addition where the windows are meant to look thin.
Phased by floor or by side
Each opening is its own line, so a big Reserve job can be split, for example the street side this year and the back next year. Ordering it all at once keeps finishes and glass matched.
Reserve patio doors
Pella makes Reserve hinged, sliding, multi-slide and bifold patio doors. A door on the same order matches the windows and is priced on its own line.
Pella Reserve Replacement Windows — Traditional or Contemporary: questions, answered
What is the difference between Pella Reserve Traditional and Contemporary?
Traditional uses detailed profiles, putty-glaze-style details and Integral Light Technology grilles that look like true divided light. Contemporary uses a through-stile cladding system for square exterior corners, thin frames and more glass. Both are wood inside with an extruded aluminum exterior.
Can Pella Reserve windows match the trim in my old house?
The window can be close in look, but we do not copy old casing profiles. New interior casing is a stock or close profile, or we reset your existing casing if it comes off whole. We say which at the estimate, opening by opening.
What wood species does Pella Reserve come in?
Pella lists pine, mahogany and Douglas fir interiors, treated with its EnduraGuard protection. They come unfinished, primed, painted or stained. Staining or painting after install is quoted as a separate line, or your finisher does it.
Do you sell Pella Reserve windows?
We are an installer, not a Pella dealer. Pella sells Reserve through its showrooms and Pella Pro dealers, and we confirm the line with our ABC Supply branch before the quote is final. If our branch cannot order it, you buy it from Pella and we measure and install it.
Is triple-pane available on Pella Reserve?
Pella lists triple-pane as an option on Reserve, along with impact-resistant and sound-control glass. Pella recommends AdvancedComfort Low-E for the Northern climate. Each opening's glass is written on the quote so you can see where the upgrade goes.
Are Pella Reserve windows installed as inserts?
Pella lists Reserve as new-construction and full-frame replacement units, so we install every opening full frame. That means new jamb extensions and casing inside, and new exterior trim or siding refit outside, all priced on the opening's line.
