For a Pella 250 Series whole house replacement, JMB Builders supplies the vinyl windows and installs them. We measure every opening in person, pick the right 250 frame for each one (insert, replacement or nailing fin), put the house on one order through ABC Supply, and install room by room across the Twin Cities metro. Priced per window. Reply to photos within one business day, or a free in-home estimate.
- Priced per window, every opening listed
- Insert, replacement or nail-fin frame per opening
- Optional foam frames and triple-pane glass

The 250 Series is Pella's step-up vinyl window. Pella rates its vinyl formulation 52% stronger than ordinary vinyl in a bend test, the frames are multichambered and fusion-welded, and both foam-filled frames and triple-pane glass are options. It is offered in single-hung, double-hung, casement, awning, sliding, picture, bay and bow and specialty shapes, so every opening in a typical Minnesota house has a 250 Series match.
On a whole-house order the 250 Series has one more thing going for it: three frame builds. An insert sits inside a sound old frame. A replacement frame is a flat, finless unit fastened through the jamb. A new-construction unit has a nailing fin and goes in after the old window is out to the studs. We choose per opening at the measure, and the quote names the build on each line.
Vinyl gets installed with its own care. The frame moves more with temperature than wood or fiberglass, so we leave the gap the instructions call for, shim only at the marked points and never pull a screw tight enough to bow the jamb. If you already bought 250 Series windows, our labor-only Pella page is the one for you; this page is supply and install.

- Drop cloths on floors and covers on furniture
- Room-by-room install, every opening closed the same day

How it is priced: per window
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- Number of windows and the mix of styles
- Insert, replacement or nail-fin frame at each opening
- Foam-insulated frames and triple-pane glass
- Dual-color exteriors versus a solid color
- Siding, stucco or brick at nail-fin openings
- Bays, bows and large picture units that need extra hands
- Interior trim scope and any painting, which is its own line
Label one photo of each window by room, inside and outside. That gets you a first number; the free in-home measure makes it final.
How long it takes
Lead time depends on the brand and is written on the quote. Inserts go fastest, roughly three to five a day; nail-fin units with siding work run one to three a day.

Situations and options
Insert
Sashes and stops out, the 250 insert set inside the old wood frame, sealed and trimmed. No siding work. Needs a sound, square old frame.
Replacement frame
A finless 250 Series frame screwed through the jamb into the framing and sealed outside. Used where the old frame comes out but the siding stays.
Nailing fin
Old window out to the studs, siding cut back, sill pan and tape, fin nailed and flashed, siding refit or new trim. For rotted or out-of-square openings.
Pella 250 Series Whole House Replacement, Supplied and Installed: questions, answered
Is the Pella 250 Series a good window for a whole Minnesota house?
It is Pella's step-up vinyl line, with optional foam-filled frames and optional triple-pane glass. For a cold climate, Pella's AdvancedComfort Low-E glass with foam frames is the usual combination, with triple-pane where the budget allows. We price both on the same quote so you can see the difference per window.
What is the difference between Pella 250 insert and replacement frames?
An insert goes inside the old window frame after the sashes come out, so the old frame stays. A replacement frame replaces the old frame but is finless, so the siding stays in place. A nail-fin unit replaces everything to the studs. We pick one for each opening at the measure.
Can you buy the Pella 250 Series windows for my house?
Yes. We order them through ABC Supply, which Pella lists as a seller of the 250 Series, and we confirm availability and lead time with the branch before the quote is final. We are an independent installer, not a Pella dealer.
Can I replace half the house in Pella 250 now and the rest later?
Yes. The quote lists every opening, so you can choose which go first. Color, glass and grille choices are written down so the second order matches the first, though it is a separate order with its own lead time.
Do I need to be home while the Pella 250 windows are installed?
Someone needs to let us in and be reachable. You can live in the house the whole time: we work room by room and close every opening the same day. Pets should be kept away from the rooms we are working in.
Can the Pella 250 Series be ordered in black?
The 250 Series is offered with a White interior and a Brown or Black exterior, and Pella has announced more exterior colors for its vinyl lines. We confirm what can be ordered at the time of your quote.
