Andersen 100 Series Apartment Windows — Fibrex for a Whole Building
The owner wants a national brand on every unit, the budget will not reach a wood window, and the building needs a darker exterior than white vinyl.

Andersen 100 Series apartment windows are Fibrex composite units in single-hung, gliding, casement, awning and picture styles, with dark exterior colors. JMB Builders orders them through ABC Supply, measures every opening in every unit, and installs unit by unit across the Twin Cities metro to St. Cloud. We are an installer, not an Andersen dealer. Priced per opening. Photo reply within one business day, or a free walkthrough.
- Priced per opening, listed by unit
- Ordered through ABC Supply
- Fibrex frames; Dark Bronze and Black outside

The 100 Series is the Andersen line that fits a rental building budget. Frames and sash are solid Fibrex, Andersen's composite of reclaimed wood fiber and thermoplastic polymer, which Andersen rates at about twice the strength of vinyl. Andersen offers it in White, Sandtone, Terratone, Dark Bronze and Black outside, and warrants the dark colors against fading, flaking and peeling.
Know the line's limits before writing it into a building spec. Andersen does not list a double-hung in the 100 Series, so double-hung bedrooms become single-hungs or gliders. It is dual-pane only; the cold-weather gains come from Low-E4, SmartSun and the HeatLock coating. There is a 100 Series gliding patio door for balcony and patio units.
Andersen 100 Series is listed at ABC Supply's Maple Plain and St. Cloud branches, so we order it there. Before we bid, we check the city's contractor licensing and permit rules for that building. Each egress bedroom window is checked against the single-hung or casement size that fits the opening.

- 100 Series gliding patio doors added for balconies
- Brick, stucco or siding at full-frame openings

Andersen 100 Series Apartment Windows — Fibrex for a Whole Building: questions, answered
Are Andersen 100 Series windows a good fit for an apartment building?
They suit owners who want one national brand, a dark exterior and a frame Andersen rates at about twice the strength of vinyl, at a price below Andersen's wood lines. The line is dual-pane only and has no double-hung, so check those two points against your building before choosing it.
Does the Andersen 100 Series come in a double-hung for apartment bedrooms?
Andersen does not list a double-hung in the 100 Series. Bedrooms usually get a single-hung, glider or casement, and each one is checked for egress at the measure. If the building must keep double-hungs, the 400 Series can be priced on the same bid.
What colors does the Andersen 100 Series come in?
Andersen lists White, Sandtone, Terratone, Dark Bronze and Black exteriors. Interiors are White, Sandtone, Dark Bronze or Black, and the dark interiors come only with the matching exterior. We bring samples to the walkthrough.
Where do you buy Andersen 100 Series windows for a building?
Through ABC Supply. Andersen's own dealer locator lists the 100 Series at ABC's Maple Plain and St. Cloud branches. We are an independent installer, not an Andersen dealer, and the building goes on one order so color and glass match.
Is there a 100 Series patio door for apartment balconies?
Yes. Andersen makes a 100 Series gliding patio door. Ordered with the windows, it gets the same exterior color and glass and is installed in the same unit visit.
Can tenants stay in their units during the window install?
Yes. We take out only as many windows as we can set, flash and close that day, cover floors and furniture, and clean up before leaving each unit. The owner sends the tenant notice; we give the dates and the access we need.
