Apartment Window Replacement Tenant Notice — Schedule and Draft
The windows are ordered, the dates are close, and every tenant needs to know when someone will be in their unit and what to move out of the way.

An apartment window replacement tenant notice comes from the owner or manager, not the contractor, because entry is the landlord's right under the lease and Minnesota law. JMB Builders gives you the install schedule by unit and room, the time window, what tenants need to move, and draft wording you can adapt and send. Twin Cities metro to St. Cloud. - Owner or manager sends the notice
- Schedule by unit, room and time window
- Draft letter text you can adapt

Tenants handle window work fine when they know three things: which day, what time window, and what to move. They handle it badly when a crew knocks with no warning. The notice is the owner's job because entry is the landlord's right under the lease and state law. Minnesota's tenant entry statute, Minn. Stat. 504B.211, as we read it, generally calls for a good-faith effort at reasonable notice, at least 24 hours, with a time or window of entry, and entry between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. unless the tenant agrees otherwise. Check the current statute, your lease and your attorney; this is not legal advice.
What we bring is the information that makes the notice accurate. Once the windows are confirmed for delivery, you get a schedule by unit: date, start window, which rooms, and whether the patio door is part of that day. We also send draft text you can paste into your own letter or portal message and change as you like.
If weather or a late delivery moves a date, we tell you the same day so a new notice can go out. On install day each opening is finished and closed before we leave the unit, so no unit is left open overnight.

Apartment Window Replacement Tenant Notice — Schedule and Draft: questions, answered
Who sends the notice to tenants for window replacement?
The owner or property manager. Entry rights come from the lease and Minnesota law, so the landlord gives notice. The contractor supplies the dates, rooms and prep list that go into it.
How much notice does a Minnesota landlord give before contractor work in a unit?
As we read Minn. Stat. 504B.211, a landlord makes a good-faith effort to give reasonable notice of at least 24 hours, names a time or window for entry, and enters between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. unless the tenant agrees otherwise. Many owners give more time for window work. This is not legal advice; check the current statute and your lease.
What should a tenant letter for a window install say?
The date, the time window, which rooms, how long the crew will be in the unit, and what to move: furniture away from the windows, curtains and blinds down, pets secured. Add who to call with questions. We send draft text with your building's dates filled in.
Do tenants need to be home during window replacement?
That is the owner's call under the lease. Many owners let the crew in with a key after proper notice. If a tenant wants to be home, the schedule shows their window so they can plan.
What happens if a tenant refuses entry on window install day?
We move to the next unit on the schedule and tell you right away. Rescheduling that unit is between you and the tenant. A return trip for a missed unit may be priced as its own line, which the bid says up front.
Will tenants be left with an open window overnight?
No. Each opening is removed, installed, sealed and closed the same day. If a unit takes two days, the windows done on day one are finished before we leave.
