- Priced per window, every opening listed
- MI vinyl supplied through ABC Supply
- V3000 replacement, V2000 new construction

MI Windows and Doors makes vinyl windows in U.S. plants and sells them through dealers and building-supply houses. For a whole-house replacement, the V3000 Series is the usual choice: the 1650 double-hung, the 1685 slider and the 9770 casement. The V2000 Series is aimed at new construction, with a nailing fin, and fits openings where the old frame comes out to the studs. MI also sells the Sunrise V4500 and other lines; we confirm with ABC Supply which ones our branch can order before the quote.
A whole house is mostly paperwork done right. Every opening is measured in person and written on the quote: room, style, size, glass, insert or full frame, and trim. One order goes in for all of it so the vinyl color and grilles match. If you need to phase it, the same lines carry over to the second order.
Then the install, a room at a time. Runners on the floor, furniture covered, old window out, pan and flashing, new window set and foamed, interior stops or casing on, exterior trim or capping finished. The room is closed before we leave it.

How it is priced: per window
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- Series: V3000, V2000 or another MI line our branch can order
- Glass: standard Low-E or a triple-pane option where offered
- Window style and size, and any mulled units
- Insert vs. full frame, opening by opening
- Exterior trim, capping and cladding type
- Rot found at sills and second-story access
One photo of each window inside and out, labeled by room, gets a first quote; the in-home measure sets the sizes.
How long it takes
Most houses: several working days, room by room. Lead time depends on the series and is written on the quote.

Situations and options
V3000 inserts throughout
The common whole-house setup: V3000 replacement windows set into the old frames, with new interior stops and exterior capping. Fastest install and the least disruption.
Mixed insert and full frame
Openings with rotted frames or failed flashing go full frame with a new construction unit; the sound ones get inserts. Each is marked on its line.
Phased by side of the house
The worst side first and the rest later, on the same series, color and glass written on the first quote.
MI Windows Whole House Replacement — Ordered, Installed, Trimmed: questions, answered
Which MI windows are best for a whole-house replacement?
For most replacement jobs it is the V3000 Series, which includes the 1650 double-hung, the 1685 slider and the 9770 casement. The V2000 Series is built for new construction and suits openings that are torn out to the studs. We confirm which series our ABC Supply branch can order before you choose.
Do you sell MI windows or only install them?
Both ways work. JMB Builders orders MI windows through ABC Supply and installs them, or installs MI windows you have bought yourself on a labor-only basis. We are an installer, not an MI dealer.
Can I order the V4500 instead of the V3000?
Maybe. MI sells the Sunrise V4500 as a separate line, and we have not confirmed that our branch can order it. We check with ABC Supply before the quote and tell you what is available.
How many MI windows can you install in a day?
It depends on the mix. Inserts go faster than full-frame tear-outs, and second-story windows and big mulled units take longer. The quote lists every window, and we lay out the install days from that list before we start.
What happens if you find rot when a window comes out?
We stop on that opening, show you, and quote the repair before going on. Sill rot is the most common find. The repair gets its own line, and the window goes in on a pan so water drains out instead of back in.
Do I need a permit to replace all my windows?
It depends on the city and the scope. When the job needs one, JMB Builders pulls it. Full-frame work and changes to an opening's size are where permits usually come up.
