St. Cloud is the far end of our Highway 10 corridor from Zimmerman. A whole house job suits that distance: we come up once to measure everything, order everything together, and come back for a run of install days when it has all arrived. Nothing is torn out while we wait on a window.
The houses vary by part of town. Near downtown and the university there are century-old homes with wood double-hungs, weight pockets and frames that have moved. Mid-century neighborhoods have their first or second set of windows. The 1990s-and-newer houses on the south side and toward Sartell and Sauk Rapids mostly still have the builder windows, now fogging and drafting. One house can need inserts in most openings and full frame in a few, so the quote lists every opening on its own line with the method we plan for it.
Winters here run harder than in the metro, so the glass package is a whole-house decision made once: low-E coatings, gas fill, and triple-pane where the line offers it.
