Second Opinion on a Window Replacement Quote — Send Us Yours
You have a quote in hand and a feeling about it. Send it over and get a second quote built to line up next to it.

For a second opinion on a window replacement quote, send JMB Builders the quote you have plus photos of each window. We quote the same openings, line by line, in the same order: window, install method, glass, flashing and trim, so the two can be compared side by side. Twin Cities metro and north to St. Cloud, priced per project. Reply within one business day, or book a free in-home estimate.
- Same openings, quoted line by line
- Flags anything missing from the other quote
- No pressure, no same-day-signing discount

Big window quotes often arrive as one number for the house, a brand name and a deadline. That is hard to judge. A second opinion is most useful when the second quote lists the same openings the same way, so you can see where the two differ: series, insert or full frame, glass, trim and what happens if rot is found.
Send us the quote you have, with prices blacked out if you like, and photos of each window. We write ours to line up with it opening by opening, and point out anything the first quote does not mention, such as sill pans, interior trim, exterior capping or haul-away. We do not comment on the other company. The two quotes do the talking.

What you supply
- The quote you have, with or without the prices shown
- Photos of each window inside and out, labeled to match that quote
- The brand and series you were offered, if you want the same one priced
- Your deadline for deciding
What JMB supplies
- A quote for the same openings, in the same order
- Install method stated for each window: insert or full frame
- Flashing, sill pan, foam and trim written on every line
- A list of items your first quote does not mention
- An in-home measure before anything is ordered
- Same brand and series priced when we can get it, or a close equivalent named
How it is priced: per project
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- Window brand, series and glass package
- Insert vs. full frame on each opening
- Interior trim and exterior capping or casing
- Rot repair and how it is priced if found
- Number of openings and specialty shapes
- Painting as a separate line or left for you
Label your photos with the same window numbers or room names your first quote uses. It makes the comparison exact.
How long it takes
We reply within one business day of your photos. The measure is booked when you want a firm number. Install timing depends on the brand's lead time, written on the quote.

Situations and options
Same windows, priced again
You like the windows you were offered. We price the same brand and series if we can get it through ABC Supply, so the comparison is install against install.
Same openings, our recommendation
We quote what we would put in, opening by opening, with the reasons, next to what you were offered.
Scope check only
You mostly want to know what the first quote leaves out. We list the missing items and quote the openings so you can see what they add.
Second Opinion on a Window Replacement Quote — Send Us Yours: questions, answered
How do I know if my window replacement quote is fair?
Get a second quote for the same openings, listed the same way, and compare line by line. Check that each window says insert or full frame, what glass it has, whether a sill pan and flashing are included, and what trim it gets inside and out. A fair quote is one where you can see what you are paying for.
Can you review a window quote from another company?
We do not grade the other company. We write our own quote for the same openings in the same order and point out items the first quote does not mention, so you can compare them side by side.
Should I get a second quote before signing for windows?
On a large job, yes. Windows for a whole house are a big purchase, and a second quote shows whether the scope and price line up. Be wary of any offer that only holds if you sign the same day.
Can you quote the same window brand I was offered?
Often. JMB Builders buys windows through ABC Supply. If the brand and series you were offered are available there, we price the same thing; if not, we name the closest series we can get and say how it differs.
Do I have to show you the price on my other quote?
No. Black out the prices if you like. We need the list of openings, sizes, series and what the quote says is included.
What is usually missing from a window replacement quote?
The most common gaps are interior trim, exterior capping or casing, sill pans and flashing, how rot repair is priced, and haul-away of the old windows. If a quote does not mention them, ask, or get one that does.
