Sauk Rapids is a scheduled trip for us, east of the Mississippi from St. Cloud, and we group work here into full days. For a whole-house job that is a good fit: nothing starts until every window and door on the order has been delivered and checked, and then the install runs day after day until the last opening is trimmed. You are not left with half the house done and a two-week gap.
The houses run across three eras. Early-1900s homes near the old downtown often have wood windows where full frame work and rot repair at the sills are likely. Mid-century neighborhoods bring a mix of original and once-replaced windows, sometimes two or three different kinds in one house. The 1990s-and-newer development on the edges is mostly builder-grade vinyl hitting seal failures at the same time. Each opening is judged at the measure and marked insert or full frame on the quote.
Central Minnesota winters run hard, so the glass package is chosen once for the whole house and the gap around every new frame is foamed and sealed before trim. Lead time depends on the brand and is written on the quote.

What you supply
- Frame color, glass package and grilles, chosen at the measure

How it is priced: per opening
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- Number of windows and doors and the mix of sizes
- Insert or full frame, opening by opening
- Glass package for central Minnesota winters
- Frame material and color
- Rot and framing repair, most likely in the older homes
- Exterior finish and trim or capping
- Second-story openings that need ladders or staging
Send one photo of each window inside and out, labeled by room. Mention any windows that were replaced before, so we know what mix to expect.
How long it takes
Once delivered, most houses take several consecutive working days: three to five inserts a day, one to three full frame openings a day.

Frame color, glass and grilles for the whole house, and anything that should differ by room, such as obscure glass in a bathroom.

Decide at the quote
Every opening is a line. Approve all of it or a first phase; what you approve goes on one order.
- 4
Delivery, then full days
We check the delivery against the quote, then book install days back to back. Each room is finished and closed before the next.
- 5
Walkthrough
We open and lock every window with you and put photos of the finished work in your job folder.
Whole House Window Replacement in Sauk Rapids, MN — Full Days on Site: questions, answered
Who replaces all the windows in a house in Sauk Rapids, MN?
JMB Builders, a licensed Minnesota residential building contractor (BC809005) based in Zimmerman, replaces every window in a house across Sauk Rapids and Benton County. Every opening is measured in one visit, quoted line by line and ordered together. Photos get a reply within one business day, and a free in-home estimate is always an option.
Why wait until everything is delivered to start?
Because Sauk Rapids is a planned trip for us, we want the install to run straight through. Checking the delivery first means a wrong size or a damaged unit is caught before any old window comes out, so no opening sits waiting on a part.
My house has three different kinds of windows. Can they all be matched now?
Yes. That is common in mid-century Sauk Rapids houses that were replaced a few windows at a time. A whole-house order brings every opening to one frame color and glass package, even where the install method differs from one window to the next.
What do I need to decide, and when?
Color, glass and grilles at the measure; which openings to include at the quote. Before the install days, clear the area at each window and take down blinds and curtains. During the job you have one number to call.
Do you need a permit to replace windows in Sauk Rapids?
It depends on the city's rules and on whether an opening changes size. We check with the City of Sauk Rapids building department before the job and pull a permit when the work needs one.
Do you do whole-house window jobs in St. Cloud and Sartell too?
Yes. St. Cloud, Sartell, Becker and Big Lake are on the same trips. The same measure, order and full-day install schedule applies.
