- Priced per window
- Every window on the storm side checked
- Adjuster walk-through when you want it

Blaine is flat and open, so a Minnesota thunderstorm with hail or straight-line wind gets a clean run at the houses. The damage tends to land on one or two sides of a house, and it lands on every window on those sides, not just the one with the obvious crack. That is why we check them all, upstairs and down, and the screens with them.
The windows themselves span every era. Older ramblers and split-entries may have early replacements with aluminum or wood frames. The 1990s–2000s homes have vinyl windows that are already in the age range where seals fail on their own. That matters on a claim. A hard strike can break a seal and fog the glass months later, but a window that was fogged before the storm is age, and we list it that way. An honest list holds up when the adjuster walks it.
The claim is yours: you file it and you are the one your insurer works with. Our part is the photos, the line-item scope, a walk-through with the adjuster if you ask for it, and the repair once it is approved. Under Minnesota law a contractor may not waive, rebate or pay a homeowner's deductible, and we do not. For what your policy covers and how long you have to report, check your policy and ask your agent.

How it is priced: per window

- Glass, sash, screen or the whole unit for each window
- Vinyl, wood or aluminum frame, and the window style
- Whether parts are still made for that window
- Upstairs windows that need ladders or staging
- Exterior finish around whole-unit replacements
- How many windows the approved scope lists
Send a wide photo of each side the storm hit and a close-up of each damaged window with a tape or coin in the frame.
How long it takes

Storm Damaged Window Repair in Blaine, MN: questions, answered
How do I know if hail damaged my windows and not just the roof?
Look at the parts that face up: the sill, the bottom rail of the sash and the screen. Hail leaves dents, chips and hairline splits there, especially on vinyl. Check whether each window still locks tight. Photograph anything you find with a coin or tape beside it.
My 2000s windows were starting to fog before the storm. Will they be on the claim?
A window that fogged from age before the storm is not storm damage, and we list it separately. A window whose seal broke from a hard hit can fog later and may be part of the claim. Note when you first saw the fog and ask your insurer.
Will you meet my adjuster at my house in Blaine?
Yes, when you want us there. We walk each window with the adjuster using the same photos and list you have. Your insurer deals with you directly; our role on site is to point out the damage and explain the repair.
Can a contractor waive my deductible in Minnesota?
No. Waiving, rebating or paying a deductible is something Minnesota law prohibits contractors from doing, and JMB Builders follows it. You pay your deductible as your part of the repair. A contractor who offers to cover it is making the money up somewhere else.
Does the City of Blaine require a permit to replace storm damaged windows?
Glass and sash swaps leave the opening alone. For whole-window replacements, some cities require a permit and some do not, so we check with the City of Blaine building department and pull one when it is required.
Do you fix storm damaged windows in Ham Lake and Andover too?
Yes. We are based in Zimmerman and repair storm damaged windows in Blaine, Ham Lake, Andover, Coon Rapids and across the Twin Cities metro. The inspection, the write-up and the repair are the same in each city.
