A manufactured home door is not a site-built door. It is sized to the home's opening, often 34x76 on the main door, and it is built to mount the way mobile homes are built, usually outswing with a flange or trim that fastens to the outside wall. A standard prehung entry door from the house-door aisle does not fit that opening without reframing the wall. The right replacement is a door sold for manufactured homes, in the size and swing the home has now.
The part that goes wrong is under the door. Water runs off the door and siding onto the floor edge at the threshold, and the floor decking there turns soft. A new door set on a soft floor sags and leaks within a season. We pull the old door, check the floor and rim at the sill, cut out and replace what is rotted, and set the new door on solid wood with sealant and flashing.
Most mobile home doors also carry a storm door. We hang a storm door sized for the mobile-home opening at the same visit when you want one. We work in parks and on private lots across the north metro, including Zimmerman, Elk River, Big Lake and Isanti.

How long it takes
One mobile home door with sound floor: about half a day. Add a few hours when the floor at the sill has to be rebuilt; add an hour or two for the storm door.

Can I put a regular house door on a mobile home?
Not without reframing the opening. Mobile home doors are a different size and construction than site-built doors, and most mount from the outside with a flange. A regular prehung door needs a different rough opening and wall depth. The simple fix is a door made for manufactured homes, in the size and swing you have now.
Where do I buy a 34x76 manufactured home exterior door?
Mobile home supply stores, some lumberyards and online sellers carry them, and some big-box stores stock them or order them. Buy it in the same size and swing as the old one. Send us the listing before you order and we will check it against your photos at no charge, or we can order the door for you.
What if the floor under my mobile home door is rotted?
It gets fixed before the new door goes in. We cut back the soft decking and rim at the threshold, replace it with solid wood, and seal it so water from the door runs out, not in. A new door on a soft floor sags and leaks again within a season.
Do you install storm doors on mobile homes?
Yes. A storm door made for the mobile-home opening is hung and adjusted at the same visit as the entry door, or on its own. Many mobile home doors are outswing, so the storm door has to be one made to work with that.
