Interior door installation in Rogers, MN is usually swapping the builder's hollow-core doors for solid-core, or hanging doors you bought for a basement or bonus room. JMB Builders sets prehung units or fits slabs to the existing jambs, shims at the hinges and strike, cases the opening and fits your hardware. Priced per door. Send photos and a door count and we reply within one business day, or book a free in-home estimate.
- Priced per door, prehung or slab
- Hollow-core to solid-core swaps
- Doors you bought, installed labor-only

The first wave of Rogers subdivisions is now twenty-some years old, and the interior doors show it. Hollow-core slabs with a dent at kick height, bifolds that jump their track, a bathroom door you can hear through. The jambs and casing are often fine, which matters, because it decides whether the job is a slab swap or a full prehung replacement.
If the jambs are square and you like the casing, we fit new slabs to the old frames: hinges mortised to the existing locations, the lockset bored, and the edges planed so the gap is even. If the jambs are dinged or you are changing the casing anyway, a prehung unit goes in and gets new casing on both sides. Newer Rogers houses have 2x6 exterior walls but most interior walls are 2x4, so the jamb width is checked at each opening before anything is ordered.
A lot of the doors we hang here were already bought by the homeowner, from a big-box store or a builder's leftover stock. That is fine. Send the label or the receipt before you pick them up and we check the size and swing against your openings.

What you supply
- A count of doors, a photo of each opening, and which way each one swings
- The doors, if you are buying them, or the style and core you want and we put them on the quote
- Knobs, levers and hinges in your finish if the doors do not include them
- Painting or staining is quoted as a separate line — or leave it primed and caulked and paint it yourself
What JMB supplies
- Removal and haul-away of the old doors, and the old jambs and casing on prehung swaps
- Hinges mortised, lockset and latch bored, slabs planed to fit on slab-only installs
- Prehung units shimmed at the hinges and strike and set plumb
- Casing on both sides, matched to the rest of the house
- Stops and strikes adjusted so each door latches without a push
- Photos of the finished doors in your job folder
How it is priced: per door
Quoted in writing from your photos, with a reply within one business day. What moves the number:
- Slab fitted to the old jamb vs. a full prehung replacement
- Hollow-core, solid-core, glass-panel or French pair
- Number of doors, since a whole-house swap lowers the per-door rate
- New casing on both sides vs. reusing what is there
- Bifold and bypass closet doors vs. swing doors
- Doors and hardware you supply vs. on our quote
Send a photo of each opening with the door open, the door label if you already bought them, and a count of slabs vs. prehung.
How long it takes
Two to four prehung doors in a day. Slab fits take longer per door. A whole-house swap of a dozen doors in a Rogers two-story: usually two to three days.

Situations and options
Slab swap in the old frame
New slab fitted to your existing jamb and hinges. Keeps the casing and paint, and works when the frame is square.
Prehung replacement
Old door, jamb and casing out, new prehung unit in with new casing. The pick when jambs are dented or you are changing the trim style.
Basement and bonus-room doors
New openings in a finished lower level or over-garage room hung after the drywall is primed, then cased to match upstairs.
French doors for an office
A glass-panel or French pair on a den or main-floor office, with the astragal and catches set so both doors close flush.
Interior Door Installation in Rogers, MN: questions, answered
Should I replace the slab or the whole prehung door in my Rogers house?
If the jamb is square, not split, and you like the casing, a slab swap costs less and keeps your paint. If the jamb is dented, the casing is coming off anyway, or the door never latched right, a prehung unit is the better job. We look at each opening in your photos and tell you which it is.
Are solid-core doors worth it in a newer house?
For bedrooms, bathrooms and an office, yes for most people. A solid-core door blocks more sound, closes with a heavier feel and does not dent from a kick. Many owners put solid-core on the rooms people sleep and work in and keep hollow-core on closets.
Can you install interior doors I bought at a big-box store?
Yes, we install customer-bought doors labor-only. Send the label or receipt first so we can check the size, swing and jamb width against the opening. If something does not fit, we tell you before you pick it up.
Do I need a permit to replace interior doors in Rogers?
Swapping a door in an existing opening is finish work. Cutting a new opening or widening one means changing framing, and most cities require a permit for that. In that case we check with the City of Rogers building department and pull it.
How much do interior doors cost to install in Rogers?
Interior doors are priced per door, and the rate drops when several are done in one visit. Slab or prehung, the door type, casing and who supplies the doors move the number. Send a photo of each opening and a count and we reply within one business day, or book a free in-home estimate.
