Andersen Corporation was founded in 1903 in Hudson, Wisconsin and has been headquartered in Bayport, Minnesota for most of its history. It is privately held, majority-owned by the founding family with a sizable employee stake, and is the largest window and door manufacturer in North America. Its lineup runs from the composite 100 Series to the fully custom E-Series, so there is an Andersen product at most budget levels.
A signature of the brand is Fibrex®, Andersen's composite of reclaimed wood fiber and thermoplastic polymer. Andersen states it is about twice as strong as vinyl, blocks thermal transfer far better than aluminum, and holds dark exterior colors that vinyl struggles with. Andersen products are sold through The Home Depot, independent lumberyards and Andersen dealers across the Twin Cities.
