A 9500 in good shape with intact glass seals performs like a decent double-pane Low-E argon window; the frame air seal at the rough opening is usually where an older install loses heat. What the install adds
On install day we set the unit on a sill pan, tape the nailing fin or frame to the housewrap, fill the rough-opening gap with low-expansion foam, and finish the interior with backer rod and sealant so the air seal is continuous. Outside, a sealant joint at the trim or siding keeps water out of the wall.
