Pella Reserve is the company's luxury wood line (the successor to the Architect Series Reserve name), offered in two design collections. Traditional carries historic elements: deliberate proportions, intricate profiles, putty-glaze-style details and Integral Light Technology® grilles that read as true divided light. Contemporary uses a patented through-stile cladding system for 90-degree exterior profiles, minimal frames and expansive glass.
Interiors are pine, mahogany or Douglas fir, and the wood is treated with Pella's EnduraGuard® protection; exteriors are extruded aluminum-clad, with EnduraClad® finishes in a wide palette plus custom colors. Hardware ranges from the Traditional collection's period-inspired Antiek fold-away crank to contemporary finishes, and Reserve patio doors can be personalized with Baldwin® hardware.
Reserve is built for custom homes, historic renovation and design-driven projects, and the product range is Pella's widest: double-hung, casement, awning, picture and specialty windows plus hinged, sliding, multi-slide and bifold patio doors. Triple-pane and impact-resistant glass are optional.

Insulation and energy performance in Minnesota
Reserve is a wood window with aluminum only on the exterior face, so the frame insulates the way wood does. For Minnesota, order AdvancedComfort Low-E, Pella's recommended coating for the Northern climate, and step up to triple-pane where the style offers it; NaturalSun Low-E is the choice where you want the sun to help heat a room.
Glass packages
- Advanced Low-E insulating glass with argon (dual-pane standard)
- AdvancedComfort Low-E: Pella's recommended coating for cold Northern climates, dual- or triple-pane
- NaturalSun Low-E: higher solar gain for cold climates and passive heating
- SunDefense Low-E: maximum solar-heat rejection for hot exposures
- Optional triple-pane InsulShield® glass; optional impact-resistant and sound-control glass
Frame and sash
Solid wood frame and sash (pine, mahogany or Douglas fir) with extruded aluminum exterior cladding; Contemporary uses a through-stile cladding system. Weatherstripping runs the full sash perimeter, and casements lock at multiple points to compress the seal.
Ratings
ENERGY STAR® certified options for the Northern zone with the right glass package; triple-pane configurations are available for the most demanding projects. Pella publishes unit U-factors by product and glass in its Architectural Design Manual and on the NFRC label.
What the install adds
On install day we set the unit on a sloped sill pan, tape the flanges or brickmould to the housewrap with flashing tape, fill the rough-opening gap with low-expansion foam, and seal the interior with backer rod and sealant before trim goes on. The exterior joint gets backer rod and sealant too, so the rating on the label is what the wall actually gets.
