Encompass by Pella is the brand's entry vinyl line, still sold under that name on pella.com and through Pella Pro dealers. It uses high-grade vinyl with precision-welded frames to resist warping and twisting, Low-E insulating glass with argon, and the most popular window styles at Pella's most accessible price point.
Frames come in three solid colors, White, Almond and Fossil, with the color running through the vinyl; not every color is offered on every style (the single-hung lists White and Almond). Styles include single-hung, double-hung, sliding, picture and fixed shapes, with a matching sliding patio door.
It is a practical pick for rentals, flips and budget-focused whole-house projects where a national brand's warranty still matters. If you are shopping the Lowe's aisle instead, Pella's comparable store line is the 150 Series.

Insulation and energy performance in Minnesota
Encompass insulates the way a basic vinyl window does: non-conductive vinyl frame chambers and a Low-E argon dual-pane unit. It is dual-pane only, so for Minnesota the meaningful choices are the Low-E coating and a careful install; if you need Northern-zone numbers or triple-pane, step up to the 250 Series.
Glass packages
- Low-E insulating dual-pane glass with argon (standard)
- Pella InsulShield® Low-E options where offered on the line
- Tempered and obscure glass where required
Frame and sash
Multichambered vinyl frame and sash with precision-welded corners; weatherstripped sash with cam locks on hung and sliding units.
Ratings
ENERGY STAR® certified options are available with the right glass package; Northern-zone certification depends on style and glass, so check the NFRC label on the specific unit. Pella publishes U-factors in its Encompass design manual.
What the install adds
On install day we set the unit on a sloped sill pan, tape the flanges or brickmould to the housewrap with flashing tape, fill the rough-opening gap with low-expansion foam, and seal the interior with backer rod and sealant before trim goes on. The exterior joint gets backer rod and sealant too, so the rating on the label is what the wall actually gets.
