DaylightMax is Simonton's slim vinyl frame collection, designed to let in more light without giving up energy efficiency. The narrower frame puts more glass in the same opening than a conventional vinyl window, which suits view rooms and contemporary remodels.
The standard glass is a 3/4-inch double-strength insulating unit with ProSolar Low-E glass, argon and an Intercept spacer. Simonton lists DaylightMax sliding, single-hung, casement and picture windows (not every style in every region), and the DaylightMax sliding window carries the Good Housekeeping Seal. A black interior finish is offered in select Western states.
For a Twin Cities home, DaylightMax makes sense where the view matters; order the Northern-zone glass package, since a slimmer frame means the glass carries more of the insulating job.

Insulation and energy performance in Minnesota

For Minnesota, order the Northern-zone ENERGY STAR package and the PLUS fourth-surface Low-E if it is offered on your style.

Ratings
Simonton offers region-specific glass packages that meet ENERGY STAR guidelines; ask for the Northern-zone package and the NFRC label for the exact unit.
What the install adds
On install day we set the unit on a sill pan, tape the nailing fin or frame to the housewrap, fill the rough-opening gap with low-expansion foam, and finish the interior with backer rod and sealant so the air barrier is continuous. Exterior joints get backer rod and a quality sealant, so the rating on the label is what you feel in the room.
