The Pro Series is Ply Gem's workhorse vinyl line. On plygem.com it appears as the East Pro Series (windows and sliding patio doors) and as the West Pro Series 200 and West Pro Series 700 for the Western US; this page used to be titled West Pro 200 / 700 Series. Which version can be ordered depends on your ZIP code, so we confirm the current Pro Series offering for a Twin Cities address when we quote.
The East Pro Series comes in bold exterior colors plus classic neutrals and earth tones, with standard and custom grille patterns and a screen on operable units that can be upgraded to a specialty screen for durability, solar control, or a clearer view. East Pro patio doors list classic neutrals and earth tones plus striking black, grey, or evergreen exteriors, a standard fiberglass mesh screen, and an optional footbolt for secure ventilation.
Glass runs from Low-E to Ply Gem's HP package (Low-E with argon) and HPMax triple-pane, in regionally specific ENERGY STAR packages. Ply Gem covers the Pro Series with its Limited Lifetime Warranty for as long as you live in the home.

Insulation and energy performance in Minnesota
The Pro Series gets its winter performance from the glass package more than the frame: order HP Low-E with argon at minimum and ask about HPMax triple-pane, both in the Northern ENERGY STAR package. Ply Gem lists R-Core foam frame insulation as a Premium Series feature, so on the Pro Series the glass choice does most of the work.
Glass packages
- HP: double-pane Low-E with argon gas fill; argon is denser than air and slows heat loss through the airspace
- HPMax: triple-pane insulating glass with two sealed airspaces for Ply Gem's lowest vinyl U-factors
- Regionally specific ENERGY STAR glass packages; ask for the Northern package for Minnesota
- Other specialty glass (laminated, obscure, tempered) varies by configuration; confirm at the estimate
Frame and sash
Multi-chamber vinyl frame and sash with weatherstripped operable sashes. Ply Gem does not publish an air-leakage figure for the Pro Series on its product pages, and foam frame insulation is not a listed Pro Series feature.
Ratings
ENERGY STAR certified configurations are offered by region, including the Northern zone with the right glass package. Ply Gem does not publish U-factor ranges on the Pro Series product page, so check the NFRC label on the ordered configuration.
What the install adds
On install day we set the unit on a sill pan, tape the nailing fin or frame to the housewrap, fill the rough-opening gap with low-expansion foam, and finish the interior with backer rod and sealant so the air seal is continuous. Outside, a sealant joint at the trim or siding keeps water out of the wall.
